Who we are
San Diego Tamil Sangam
San Diego Tamil Sangam (SDTS) is the cultural and social hub for Tamilians in the Greater San Diego area, fostering Tamil heritage and education.
- Promotes Tamil cultural activities and festivals like Pongal, Tamil New Year, and Deepavali.
- Supports Tamil language education through the Bharathiyar Tamil School.
- Hosts annual events such as the Open House and Summer Picnic.
- Led by an elected Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

சான் டியாகோ தமிழ்ச் சங்கம் (SDTS) சான் டியாகோ பகுதியில் உள்ள தமிழர்களுக்கு கலாச்சார மற்றும் சமூக மையமாக செயல்பட்டு, தமிழ் மரபு மற்றும் கல்வியை பேணுகிறது.
- பொங்கல், தமிழ் புத்தாண்டு, தீபாவளி போன்ற தமிழ் கலாச்சார நிகழ்வுகளை முன்னேற்றுகிறது.

San Diego Tamil Sangam (SDTS) is dedicated to uniting and enriching the Tamil community in the Greater San Diego region by fostering the growth and preservation of Tamil culture, language, and heritage. We strive to provide a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, education, and celebration, ensuring that the rich traditions of Tamil Nadu are cherished and passed on to future generations.

We envision a thriving community where Tamil art, literature, language, and traditions flourish, fostering a sense of pride and unity among Tamilians of all ages. Through education, cultural programs, and community engagement, we aim to create an inclusive and dynamic environment that honors our past while building a vibrant future.
Bharathiyar Tamil School (BTS)
At Bharathiyar Tamil School, our goal is to introduce children from the age of three years and up to Tamil language and culture. Classes are taught in a fun, engaging, stress-free environment, with an emphasis on conversation skills, reading, and writing. The school follows the comprehensive, structured syllabus developed by the American Tamil Academy. The school also creates opportunities for children to participate in cultural activities such as plays, song and dance performances, display their budding skills on the stage, and interact with speakers who are thought leaders in the community and learn from them.
- Completely volunteer-run program, dependent on diligent volunteering by parents & other interested volunteers.
- Classes are held on Fridays between 6:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. at Shoal Creek Elementary School in Carmel Mountain Ranch.
- BTS calendar year follows the Poway School District's regular school calendar.
Tamil Library
Our organization's Tamil library is operating at Bharathiyar Tamil School. It functions every Friday during school hours from 6:45 PM to 8:30 PM. Our library has justice stories for children and books for all age groups. We humbly request all members of the organization to utilize the library.
